This apartment is named after Rocquaine Bay. It is about a four minute drive from us and is a long bay with a mix of sand, rocks and pebbles. There are many slipways and steps to this bay and it also has a causeway to Fort Grey maritime museum.
Many fishing and pleasure boats are moored in this bay. At high tide you will often see people fishing from the road over the sea wall. Free parking is available along the coast road.
Rocquaine Apartment is one of four apartments within an old Guernsey barn conversion. When we viewed La Pointe Farm in 1996, with a view to buying, the part of the barn where Rocquaine Apartment now is, was being used to house cattle, but do not worry they are now long gone!
By 1999, the barn was completely transformed into what it is now four modern apartments that have been given the grade of four and five star. In fact, all that is left of the original building are the outer walls.
Rocquaine Apartment is accessed at ground floor level from the granite courtyard. There is one step down into the apartment and once inside, all is on one level. Once inside the apartment the bathroom is the first door on the left. There is then a hallway leading to the twin bedroom it has an extra roll out single bed although when rolled out it severely limits the floor space, with a window overlooking the courtyard; the double bedroom with a window overlooking the patio and front garden has a King size bed that can be split into a twin if required; and the lounge/living/kitchen area where you will find everything you are likely to need for your general day-to-day living, including cooker, microwave, fridge, washing machine, cutlery, pots and pans, TV, DVD and CD player etc. The lounge/living area has a window/door combination overlooking the patio and front garden. This apartment is ideal for families with young children, as during the day the front door can be left open and the children can wander in and out quite safely under supervision. In the evening, children can be safely tucked up in bed but still be heard whilst parents can sit outside enjoying a glass of wine watching the incredible sunsets that can be seen from the patio.
Prices shown are based on up to four persons sharing this apartment, there will be a small charge for extra persons please enquire (babies in cots stay free)
If you want to bring your own laptop, please do, as Rocquaine Apartment is covered by our WI-FI network.
All bed linen and towels (not beach towels) are provided by us. We can also, on request, supply you free of charge with a cot and high chair. There is no charge for electricity or central heating which is available 24/7 and controlled from within the apartment.

| Our second year running staying at La
Pointe Farm and it was even better this time round!! We stayed (again)
in Rocquaine Apartment which suits us perfectly (ground floor entry all
on one level and with direct access to the garden). The apartment was as well equipped and immaculate as last year but our stay was improved by the fact that the bathroom has been completely refurbished to an even higher standard. We were completely spoilt with a week of amazing weather and have returned home with great suntans from seven days on the beach. We discovered L'Eree beach this year (having always been great fans of Cobo) and it has become our firm favourite. L'Eree is quieter and more interesting with an excellent tea rooms just across the road and clean loos at the top of the beach. The water was as clear as I have seen anywhere in the world (though a little chillier than more tropical destinations!) Highly recommended. Thanks Kevin and Cindy for another great holiday. We'll be back! |

| We stayed in Rocquaine apartment from 2
10 April. It was immaculately clean, the kitchen well stocked, the
sunset from the lounge fantastic! Our son (5) was delighted to be able
to say a daily hello to Harriet the Golden Guernsey goat and give her a
tickle and also to see the ponies and Tommy the horse. We greatly
enjoyed our trips to Sark (horse & carriage ride a must) and Herm.
Guernsey Candlecraft is a great for anyone with crafty kids (or
adults) you get to dip and carve your own candle so good we had to
go twice. Aladdins Cave, close by, has a huge selection of toys, as
well as household items. Oatlands mini-golf gave us the best laugh weve
had for ages. We stopped off at Guernsey Pearl and had some tasty meals at their caf. You can also get a horse and carriage ride from here and visit Fort Grey over the road. Cobo Bay Hotel is also lovely for meals and sunsets. In fact we didnt find anywhere that we wouldnt want to eat again. We were out for most of the day, every day, there is plenty to do and see and when we come back to Guernsey we would happily stay at La Pointe Farm again. Thank you kevin and Cindy. |

| My husband and I, along with a friend,
stayed in the Rocquaine apartment from March 25 to the 30th. It was
perfect. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen well stocked, and
the livingroom was cosy. We were visiting Guernsey as tourists and after
a long day of tramping the hills, it was lovely to return to our "home
away from home". Cindy and Kevin were terrific hosts, never intruding, but always willing to answer questions or give suggestions. On our last night, we went to a pub recommended by them and had a wonderful dinner and a magnificent sunset. I look forward to returning to Guernsey and La Pointe Farm. |

| We stayed with Kevin and Cindy when they
first opened. We were delighted to find such a warm and welcoming
apartment. No lack of space and certainly well equipped. As Diane's
background is hotel management she would have noticed otherwise, but she
was very impressed. We have returned on several occasions and have always been equally delighted. The Rocquaine apartment has always been allocated to us, and now it feels like home from home. We have returned on Tuesday 14th October 2009 after eight days as this year we could only stay for a short while because we came with our grandson and his wife, and they have obviously not yet reached the enviable position of holidaying when they want to. Do make sure to watch the sunset at Cobo Bay and to take a walk along the beach there and other nearby beaches. The Guernsey Tapestry is well worth a visit. When we came to Guernsey first of all some 30 years ago, we discovered the little bright yellow shells, some of which are now 'bottled' in old vodka and whisky bottles. This year the collection was for our grandson to put at the bottom of his fish tank! All three of our grandchildren have a bottle of shells, and this reminds them of what a special place Guernsey is. Romance is there, but also lively pubs etc if that's required. On the occasion of our first visit Peter had an accident and had to go to hospital with a damaged leg. All his own fault!! Kevin and Cindy were very helpful and co-operative, and allowed us to stay at the apartment until it was time for our plane. Thank you so much both of you. We look forward to our next visit |

| Hi Kevin & Cindy Thanks for letting us stay in your Rocquaine Apartment 31st Aug - 12th Sept. The facilities and equipement in the accomadation were brilliant, everything we needed.La Pointe is well situated, post office and food store a short distance away, we stayed in St Peters Port last year but found being on the west side of the island was for more relaxing. We flew from East Midlands on Aurigney new service 1 hour 10mins to be on the best island, fantastic. |

| We have stayed in Rocquaine for the last 2 years for 2 weeks with our 2 sons. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and indeed have booked again for next year; it is a home from home. The apartment is very well equipped if staying with children and it has access to a beautiful garden. We would highly recommend Guernsey, great beaches and lots to see and do. Thanks Kevin and Cindy |

| We had a great 10 days at the end of August. The accomodation and location was great. We explored the whole island in our 10 days and had a couple of great beach days at Cobo Bay in the North. We also enjoyed a great cliff walk on the South of the Island starting at Fermain Bay. Thanks Kevin and Cindy |

| We stayed in Rocquaine Apartment from
11th to 18th July 2009 as a family of four; two parents, one very active
toddler and Grandma. The accommodation was perfect for our needs, being on the ground floor and all on one level with access to the beautiful enclosed garden. The main living area was perfect for family living with open-plan kitchen (very well equipped), lounge and dining areas. The two bedrooms were light and airy and everywhere was spotlessly clean. The apartment was perhaps a little smaller than we had anticipated from the photos but had everything we needed and didn't feel in any way cramped with three adults and a child. Having spent all my childhood holidays in Guernsey it was a real treat to see my own child enjoy the simple pleasures that the island has to offer. It was as if time had stood still seeing him playing on the sand, splashing in the sea and climbing over the rock pools. Our favourite beach always was (and continues to be) Cobo Bay which is large, sandy and safe for children. It has all the essential facilities you need for days on the beach and the added benefit of the Cobo Tea Rooms which do excellent sandwiches (voted best crab sarnies in Guernsey this summer) and homemade cakes. We lunched there most days! We also visit Saumarez Park which has a large and safe children's playground which proved a useful diversion on the couple of cloudy days we had. On the couple of occasions when kind Grandma babysat, we ate out at The Auberge (Jerbourg) and Da Nello's (St Peter Port) - we highly recommended both. The 'Home James' service is also one to consider if you enjoy a bottle of wine with dinner. You drive yourself to your pub/restaurant in your own car and you then get driven home by a 'James' driver who puts his mini moped in your boot!! Brilliant idea. We also ate at Crabby Jacks (Vazon Bay) which is great for kids, with a very extensive menu, decent family food and efficient service. It was reason... |

Thank you very much for making our visit to Guernsey so welcoming. The apartment was equipped with everything we needed and you even provided the sunshine! We shall certainly be making a return trip and will recommend you to our friends and colleagues.
August 2007 - the Normans
This was our first visit to Guernsey and we shall certainly be returning! The weather over the past week has been wonderful and the beach is fantastic. We are all so pleased that we managed to find the time to visit the Guernsey Pearl a real gem! Also our visit would not have been complete without our day at Saumarez Manor the train journey a particular highlight! If you have children we would really recommend a day at the Strawberry Farm we only wish we had found it earlier during a holiday.
August 2007 - Jason Chris, North Wales
We've had a lovely holiday with great weather - the apartment was a home from home. The boys loved Port Soif but not the low-tide and we had several great meals at the Hollows (really nice staff) We went to Crabby Jack's - food was great, but staff snobby and take a good book because you have to wait ages for the food. Fish and chips at Cobo watching the sun go down is a must. The boys loved going round Castle Cornet and the shipwreck Museum. Think it's because of the canon
July 2007 - Jill, Simon and Hannah
Our third visit to Guernsey in as many years and again it didn't disappoint. The weather was so much better than we imagined it would be. Loads to do for kids try Guernsey candles - Hannah made one for 6, Cobo beach is great for paddling and rock pooling. Saumarez Park has a fantastic play area. And lots of fish and chips on the wall at Cobo watching the sunset. Took a few walks around petit port/Jerbourg point. Had some great meals out try Bon Port but book first, do great dip & dine 12pm -2pm, Boathouse in St Peter Port very good also Fleur du Jardin worth a visit. Lots of entertainment in St Peter Port this week which Hannah enjoyed. Midsummer Magic at L'eree and Cobo beaches - what fantastic ideas! Great apartment again, well equipped. Hope to be back again next year
.June 2007 - Robert and Claire
Perfect holiday destination with the little people to entertain. Places we really liked - Herm 20 minute boat trip easy walk across to Shell Beach. Petit Bot - sheltered beach, Oatlands - indoor play area for bad weather and good place for lunch with children, Taste of India - take away at L'eree

Lovely apartment, everything here that anyone would need. Food - We would
recommend a visit to La Barbarie, excellent , could not fault it at all. The
Imperial on the sea front is also good. We will certainly return.
May 2006 - Emma & Andy
We've spent an extremely enjoyable ten days at La Pointe Farm. The weather has
been superb and the apartment and garden have been a home from home, many thanks
- Highlights have included Saumarez Park - super playground and cafe, Cobo Bay &
Castle Cornet. We've been really impressed by the amenities all over the Island,
clean toilets, free parking, park & ride service. For eating in we'd recommend
Forest Stores, Cobo butchers & deli and the hedge boxes throughout the Island.
The sausages at Forest Stores were fantastic! For eating out we especially
enjoyed Sunday dinner at the Deerhound lunch at Saumarez Manor, the beer garden
at Fleur du Jardin and mid week pub food at the Longfrie (walkable) all were
good with kids. Finally the friendly train driver and miniature train journey at
Saumarez Manor made our little boy's afternoon

I think mum has had a lovely stay in Guernsey for her 70th! The apartment has
been lovely and comfortable. We have been so lucky with the weather. Driving
seemed so relaxed and peaceful compared with what we are used to. Thanks for
everything.
