Named after 'Mirus Gun Battery' or 'Batterie Mirus'

This cottage was originally built by the German occupying forces during the second world war to house high ranking officers from 'Batterie Mirus' that it then formed part of, after the occupation it was used to house local families returning to Guernsey after being evacuated to the UK

We bought La Pointe Farm in 1996 and decided the cottage lent itself to providing holiday accommodation, so we renovated it to it's now current modern standard

The accommodation in the cottage consists of one double bedroom, one twin bedroom which can easily accept an extra bed or cot, lounge/living/kitchen area, shower/toilet.

The cottage has its own small gravelled garden

Prices shown are based on up to four persons sharing the cottage, there will be a small charge for extra persons please enquire (babies in cots stay free)

All bed linen and towels (not beach towels) are provided by us. We can also, on request, supply you free of charge with a cot and high chair. There is no charge for electricity.

I stayed at Mirus cottage from april 17th to 24th (2010) with my sons, everybody enjoyed these holidays, La pointe farm is very well located, near the sea and in a wonderful contryside, not to far from St Peter. The house is very confortable, quiet and really ideal to take a rest. More !if your teenager had an english lesson to do, you can found a teacher in La pointe farm, thanks again for that !!and sorry for my own mistakes...

We stayed in Mirus Cottage from April 3th-17th 2010. We liked the well equipped kitchen and the fact that there are two bedrooms, and of course the big TV screen :-) Also the rural location is great. Since it was still early in the year it got quite chilly at night but an electric heater was provided to heat the living/kitchen area. - We liked Guernsey, but can recommend especially the boat trips the Herm and Sark. Too bad there was no boat service yet to Alderney. Be careful while driving on Guernseys roads: they are narrow with a lot of dangerous bends and intersections, especially when your car is left-hand driven! And there is an amazingly high volume of traffic, so beware. We can recommend LaPointe Farm without reserve.

We have visited Guernsey a number of times, always in May. To us this is the best time of year as the flowers are glorious. This time we visited in October and were blessed with glorious warm, sunny weather. We have stayed in Mirus Cottage a number of times and we find it a peaceful and relaxing home from home. La Pointe Farm is in an ideal location - short walk to the beach and L'Eree Hotel (which serves excellent food). The walk along the green lanes from La Pointe and then onto the beach round to Roquaine is lovely. A stroll to the Reservoir on a sunny Sunday afternoon is not to be missed. We thoroughly recommend the purchase of the Guernsey Walks book (from Tourist Information) which takes you off the beaten track and points out things so easily missed, including the wildlife. We love the empty beaches and the French/English mix, especially the food! A trip to Herm is an absolute must, just to see Shell Beach if nothing else. Kevin and Cindy are a great couple and we hope to see them again next year.

We stayed in the Mirus cottage (26th September)for a week after spending the previous week in St Peter Port.
The accomodation was fine with everthing there that we needed (including a fine bottle of red wine and chocolate biscuits on arrival - thankyou!).
We had travelled to La Pointe on the bus with no problem, however we soon realised that there was a real need for a hire car - an absolute bargain compared to UK and European prices. This really opened up our options for the week - getting to see more of the island and having more "freedom".
We didn't experience any problems with parking (St Peter Port or anywhere else) - the parking disc system works very well. We ate at the Longfrie Inn (very good value) and the local shop(s) catered for all our self catering needs.
The coast around the West and North of the island (easily accesible from La Pointe) is spectacular and well worth taking time out to explore.
On the farm the dogs (Riley and Alfie) are full of fun but only play ball when they're in the mood, the horses and goat (Harriet) are always ready to be stroked!
We were blessed with excellent weather, however there's nothing stopping anyone having a great time on Guernsey and at La Pointe.

  Dear Kevin and Cindy,

Thank you once again for another lovely holiday. We stayed in Mirus cottage with our daughter and 20 month old granddaughter, and 3 dogs. We were once again very comfortable in the cottage which was very clean and fresh and very well equipped. We ate out every lunch time and ate in in the evenings.

Also staying with us was our 2 sons and daughters in law with our 3 grandsons aged between 20 months and 3 years they were staying in the apartment called Vazon this was very comfortable and clean and we joined them each evening for a family meal. We all had a lovely family holiday, and would certainly recommend La Pointe Farm for a stay on Guernsey.

We used to come to Guernsey many years ago when our 3 children were very young and always enjoyed our stay. When we both turned 60 in 2005 we decided to have a family holiday again in Guernsey, then we missed a couple of years when we had an influx of grandchildren arriving but now intend to spend lot's of family holidays here once again.

We love the coastal paths and the dogs all loved the variety of walks.

Thank you once again for your hospitality and hope we were not too noisy, with 4 children, 3 and under, and 3 dogs it was sometimes difficult to keep everybody quiet all the time!

Visiting the Channel Islands was on our wish list for al long time. This year we were able to make a holiday trip from the Netherlands to South England, via Poole to Guernsey and Jersey and back to Holland via France. It was really a great holiday.

We stayed in the Mirus Cottage from July 18 – July 25 with our 3 children. Mirus isn’t very large but big enough for five persons. It has its own small garden to relax or to enjoy a barbecue. Mirus is a comfortable house with all necessary equipment. The hospitality was great. When we had a small problem on Sunday evening, Kevin was even willing to come immediately and help us.

Mirus was build during the Second World War to house officers from the Mirus cottage. Everywhere on the island we saw the survivals of the German occupation. Guernsey has a rich history, but unfortunately also a bloody history. Therefore it felt if we lived in Mirus on historical ground.

We visited the beaches and some museums and we made trips to Alderney and Herm as well, where it struck me that each island has its own character. It was a nice and relaxed week for us in Guernsey.

We stayed in the Mirus Cottage from 4th to 11th July 2009.

This was our second visit to La Pointe Farm and it was even better than the first. The accommodation is spacious, spotless and well appointed and the location could not be quieter or prettier.

Our good intentions of being self-sufficient were again defeated by the excellent quality and value in local pubs, cafes, pubs, restaurants and pubs. This trip we did more walking and exploring, taking suggestions and directions from Guernsey guide books and discovered a wealth of interesting areas for our 2010 visit.

My son who was 9 at the time loves Guernsey. The endless rock pools, fishing from various places suggested on the web-sites and the go-cart track in St Peterport will keep him coming back year after year.

For my wife and I its the pace of Guernsey that keeps us coming back. Its just such a breath of fresh air (literally)after city life.
