L'eree Apartment

Grade Four Star

Two Bedrooms, sleeps 4 - 5 people (see below)

All of the photographs below are taken in or from apartment L'eree.

This apartment is named after L'eree Bay which is about a two minute drive or 10 to12 minute walk from us. It is a bay with a mix of sand and rocks. There are two slipways and a few sets of steps to this bay. This is our closest beach. Free parking is available at two car parks.

L'eree Apartment is one of four apartments within an old Guernsey barn conversion. Before L'eree Apartment was converted by us in 1997, it was used to house the threshing machine (used in flour production) and there was still some of the machinery in place.

By 1999, the barn was completely transformed into what it is now four modern apartments that have been given the grade of four and five star. In fact, all that is left of the original building are the outer walls.

L'eree Apartment is accessed at first floor level in the gable of the building, up a set of granite steps (with handrail), from the granite courtyard. At this first floor level, you will firstly find the twin bedroom with a window overlooking the front garden and patio, with fields and the sea beyond. Next door is the double bedroom with King size bed that can be split into a twin this room will easily fit an extra folding single bed, again overlooking the front garden with similar views as the twin bedroom. Next door to this is the bathroom. To get to the lounge/living/kitchen area is a set of stairs where you will find everything you are likely to need for your general day-to-day living, including cooker, microwave, fridge, washing machine, cutlery, pots and pans, TV, DVD and CD player etc. The lounge/living area has two conservation roof lights with equally stunning views as the bedrooms at the front and two large velux windows to the rear. The view from here is over the stable yard and to the valley beyond.

Prices shown are based on up to four persons sharing this apartment, there will be a small charge for extra persons please enquire (babies in cots stay free)

If you want to bring your own laptop, please do as L'eree Apartment is covered by our WI-FI network.

All bed linen and towels (not beach towels) are provided by us. We can also, on request, supply you free of charge with a cot and high chair. There is no charge for electricity or central heating which is available 24/7 and controlled from within the apartment.

We stayed in the L'Eree Apartment June 5 - 13th. What a lovely Barn Conversion this is; furnished to a high standard, lovely and clean and all mod cons. Plus fab views over L'Eree Bay on one side and the countryside on the other. The history of La Pointe Farm and the old barracks and prison is really interesting and the guy at the Occupation Museum was very knowledgable about its past. A very nice welcome touch was the bottle of red wine, biscuits and carton of milk. The 'farm' setting is lovely and our introduction to the animals by your daughter (didnt catch her name - sorry!) was really nice. We fell for Harriet in a big was and are now looking to get a couple of goats. We know Guernsey well as have family here, and this time we were over for a wedding do (and extended holiday!)It was so relaxing to stay self-catering so we didnt have to rush around for meal times or cleaners. It was very good of you also to let us have a spare key for the week so that Granpa could do his own thing on occasion. Would definately recommend la Pointe and would also come back again in the future. Hope I havent written too much - could go on with more! Lots of love Gillx

We stayed at the L´eree apartment during 2-9 May 2010. The place was everything one can expect and even more :) Very comfortable and very cosy. 4 adults and a baby fitted there perfectly! The sunset view was lovely and the animals outside cute :) We would recommend it for sure!

My husband and I stayed at L'eree apartment in March. We were working on our boat so needed accommodation. L'eree met all our needs as we used it as a base to sleep and eat after long hours spent servicing and anti-fouling the boat. L'eree had more than adequate equipment, comfortable beds and plenty of hot water - perfect for easing aching limbs.

It was lovely being able to watch the views and sunsets from the upper windows. As ever, we loved the west coast road journey to and from the boat, each day.

We stayed in L'Eree apartment during the week of 26th September and found the accommodation to be everything that we had hoped for. It is often easy to view details on a website but to be disappointed with the reality but that was not the case. The apartment is really comfortable with every item that you may wish for. The sunsets are a joy to see.

As for Guernsey, we weren't too sure what to expect. I suppose that we found the island smaller than we had imagined but that wasn't a problem. Traffic flows efficiently but slowly as the traffic regulations are a maximum of 35mph. The roads at first seem quite narrow but we soon got used to them. Parking in St Peter Port can be a challenge. On one occasion we used the park and ride in Footes Lane and on another the car park at Bon Sejour - both of which are free and only a short walk into the main high street.

There are many places to visit and see. There are some especially lovely beaches and a day trip to Herm is well worth doing.

What we did find unusual was the fact that many of the pubs and restaurants don't serve food in the evenings until 6pm or later. On a couple of occasions we were looking to eat earlier and were caught out but we survived!

Overall, we had a great week and would thoroughly recommend La Pointe Farm to anyone.

  Dear Kevin and Cindy

We did leave notes (and pics!) to say how much we enjoyed our holiday at La Pointe Farm last week (L’Eree apartment - 23rd August), but my note was very rushed so I just wanted to reiterate that your accommodation is absolutely first class and the girls and I loved every minute of our stay – I only wish that our whole stay in Guernsey had been with you as the location and everything about it was perfect.

It was very much a last minute rushed booking but one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! After a particularly manic year at work my summer break was the therapy/rest that I needed.

Having been born in Guernsey (my parents brought me to the mainland when I was a baby) I hadn’t been back since I was seven/eight years old and wanted to see the island again – I wasn’t disappointed in spite of it being many, many years since that last visit! I also wanted the girls to visit and they loved it – and their enjoyment was enhanced by having your lovely apartment to stay in.

We fully intend to come back next year and I am thinking of during the school Easter holidays for a week – I only have one weeks leave at Easter otherwise I would do two weeks!

I’ve had a quick look at availability and will chat with the girls (and get an ok from my boss!). We loved the apartment but thought it might be nice to stay in the cottage, but to be honest I know that whichever we chose we won’t be disappointed.

Can you just confirm please how we secure a booking – do we pay a deposit or full amount up front?

This time I would also like to come by ferry rather than by plane and then hire a car and would be interested to know the cost of that– I note that you can offer special rates.

Thank you again both of you and I look forward to hearing from you re my questions above.

  (L’Eree apartment, 27th June – 4th July, 2009.)

We headed to Guernsey for tranquillity and relaxation and it was obvious within seconds of pulling into La Pointe Farm that we had come to the right place!

Set in an idyllic location in the south west of the island, the property is surrounded by acres of land occupied only by friendly farm animals, scurrying rabbits and quaint outbuildings. It is perfectly situated for beach visits, country strolls and cliff walks and, on days when we fancied going slightly further afield, we simply hopped in the car and drove up the west coast to explore the flatter – but equally beautiful – north of the island.

L’Eree itself is reached through a small courtyard and up a flight of granite steps. The bottom floor of the apartment (containing the bedrooms and bathroom) is on the first floor of the three-storey building, while the living room and kitchen area are at the top (as soon as you peer out of the kitchen window and take in the stunning vista towards the cliffs of Pleinmont, it becomes obvious why the owners selected this layout!). Upon tearing ourselves away from the view, we noticed that it was tastefully decorated throughout and equipped with all the mod cons, including Wi-Fi, a large widescreen TV and the biggest bed I’ve ever seen (you've got to see it to believe it!).

We came home from our holiday with nothing but good memories of La Pointe Farm and the island as a whole. Thanks, Kevin and Cindy, for your warmth and generosity – we will certainly be seeing you again!
